Frequently asked questions
Cincinnati Children's charges for services, why do we need donations?
As a nonprofit health system, all of our earnings are reinvested back into our mission. Philanthropy helps us do more, allowing us to pursue bold ideas and continually innovate—and it can be useful in supporting efforts that might not yet be ready to secure more traditional funding. Philanthropic dollars are also incredibly nimble, allowing us to move faster, filling funding gaps that can slow progress, helping us bring new treatments and improvements to children and families sooner.
Can I designate my gift?
Yes. You can designate your gift to your area of passion at the health system. You can select one of the offered designations or enter an other option.
How much do I need to give?
Participation rates are most important, so any gift amount counts.
I participate in Cincinnati Walks for Kids (CWK)—does that count?
Yes, any gifts made through CWK will count in the fiscal year that the walk took place. To be counted for FY24 participation, you will need to register to walk in the spring of 2024.
I give to the United Way, does that count?
Only gifts made directly to Cincinnati Children’s count for this campaign.
What is the goal of the campaign?
We are working towards 100% participation.
Can I give via payroll?
Yes, contact Hannah Gerth at [email protected] to set up your payroll donation.
