We are honored to celebrate three community partnerships that are helping change the outcome for children and families. We offer our heartfelt thanks to these groups, and the many more, who are partnering with us to improve health outcomes and quality of life for Greater Cincinnati families.
As a Growing Well partner, Cincinnati Children’s is working in conjunction with a network of organizations to help remove barriers to health care for at risk children in teens in the Cincinnati Public Schools. Growing Well enhances the success of CPS’s Community Learning Center model by supporting agencies to work collaboratively to offer primary care, dental, vision, mental health and wellness services to youth in schools all over the city.
Every Child Succeeds
A partnership of Cincinnati Children’s, Cincinnati-Hamilton County Community Action Agency and United Way of Greater Cincinnati, Every Child Succeeds is an evidence-based, prevention program designed to help at risk parents create safe, healthy, nurturing home environments for their children, from prenatal to age three. Specially trained professional home visitors provide support, education, developmental screening and connection to community resources. Since the program’s founding in 1999, it has measurably improved the lives of more than 22,300 Greater Cincinnati families.
Mayerson Center for Safe and Healthy Children
Child abuse takes a devastating toll on children and our community, derailing children of a healthy childhood and future. The effects of abuse last long after the bruises have healed. Partnering with the Department of Job and Family Services, the Cincinnati police, the Hamilton County Sheriff’s office, and the Hamilton County prosecutor’s office, Cincinnati Children’s has established the national model for the evaluation, treatment and prevention of child abuse. Caring, on average, for six or seven children each day (2,000 a year), the work is painstaking and complex. Yet the shared commitment to assuring safe, healthy and nurturing homes where all children can achieve their full potential becomes stronger every year.
