Celestial Ball Hits Million Dollar Milestone

Thank you to all who joined us for the 10th annual Celestial Ball on Saturday, June 21. Boomer Esiason and Cris Collinsworth were on hand as more than 1,300 friends of Cincinnati Children’s came together in celebration of the medical center.

A surprise pledge of $15,000 from Jack Cassidy, former president and CEO of Cincinnati Bell and longtime supporter of Cincinnati Children’s, brought the event’s fundraising total to $1 million – the first-ever for the medical center. The gala crowd cheered as honoree Boomer Esiason then handed over a $1 million check from the Boomer Esiason Foundation to make this a $2 million dollar event for Cincinnati Children’s.

The Esiasons have partnered with the medical center in the fight against cystic fibrosis (CF) for more than 20 years, even prior to Gunnar Esiason’s CF diagnosis in 1993, when he was just 2 years old. All told, the Esiasons have contributed more than $6 million to Cincinnati Children’s.
